Doren and I got back from the Roundtable event at D.C. and were able to smuggle out some screen shots of the preliminary models for the player mounts in the newest Dark Age of Camelot Expansion: Darkness Rising.

There will still be player horses included in a free expansion later down the road.

Those willing to purchase the expansion will unlock advanced mounts that can level up and even train in certain abilities. Each realm will get a unique mount.

Mythic says that the player mounts will not have any signifigant impact on RvR.

"Mythic oznámili vývoj dalšího datadisku k DaoC s názvem Darkness Rising. Jak z obrázků patrno, grafická stránka byla opět vylepšena. Rozsáhlého grafického přepracování se prý také dočká oblíbený dungeon Darknes Falls.

Nově se v DAoC také objeví mounty, tedy osedlatelná zvířata které budete moci vlastnit. Do nynějška si šlo pouze pronajmout koně na cestu mezi městy.

Mounty budete moci strojit do barev a symbolů Vaší guildy, přidáno bude také pár "emotes", tedy animací pro pobavení které lze provést na mountech. Abyste získali možnost vlastnit takovéto zvíře, nemusíte si datadisk Darkness Rising kupovat.

Dalším přídavkem je pět "šampion levelů", které zlepší vlastnosti high-level postav. Každý takový level Vám dá možnost vybrat si některou ze zvláštních abilit ostatních povolání, které byste normálně s vaším povoláním nikdy nezískali. Například bojovník tak může získat léčící magii. Tím se vlastně do hry dostávají druhotná povolání. Samozřejmě tyto ability nebudou stejně účinné jako původní ability u specializovaných povolání, ale jistě vám pomohou a spestří hru.

Datadisk je zaměřen spíše pro high levely, tedy udržení hráčů ve hře, což bohužel dokazuje morální opotřebení DaoC. Přestože je DaoC nádherná MMORPG, která by mohla konkurovat nejnovějším hitům jako je EverQuest II či World of Warcraft, moc nových zájemců již pravděpodobně nenaláká. Mythic dále připravuje nové sci-fi MMORPG Imperator a také mají licenci s GameWorkshop na hru z prostředí WarHammeru."

Ale to uz asi cital kazdy :D
